I’m an underwater photographer with a deep passion for freshwater ecosystems and nature. Originally trained as a geographer, I have always been fascinated by the complex relationships between humans and the natural world. This interest naturally led me to explore the hidden beauty beneath the surface, where I now focus on capturing the hidden beauty of underwater environments.
Though I started my career as a photojournalist, primarily working in Central and East Africa, underwater photography has since become my true calling.
I dive using a JJ Rebreather (eCCR) and shoot with a Nikon Z 7II in a Seacam housing, equipment that I trust to perform reliably under challenging conditions. The protection of nature, particularly our lakes and oceans, is important to me, as the health of these ecosystems is vital for biodiversity and climate stability. By documenting these environments, I aim to contribute to a greater awareness of their fragility.
Germany offers a surprisingly diverse underwater world just beyond the surface. From tranquil lakes to submerged historical mining sites, there’s much to explore right in our own backyard.
